Gemotions

The office was bright, natural light streaming through large windows. The scent of essential oils hung in the air. He was waiting for his appointment, a mix of apprehension and hope churning in his gut.

His name was called. In front of him was the person he knew. The bully from high school. But they were looking at him with a different look. They were calm and inviting.

"Come in, Mark," they said softly. "Have a seat." He sat.

He began to share his feelings of isolation, his difficulty in forming meaningful relationships. The therapist listened intently. He felt like he had been heard.
