"The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter," the book was called. Sarah found it in a box of old keepsakes, hidden away in the attic. Her name wasn't on the cover. A pang of... something, not quite sadness, not quite happiness, resonated within her.

The protagonist was a woman who faced the same battles she did, a woman who had the same dreams and insecurities. As she turned the pages, she was taken by the story's gentle, meandering pace.

She imagined David, her husband of twenty years, laboring over the words. She imagined him at his desk, his brow furrowed in concentration, capturing her essence. She smiled, thinking about how he might have struggled with the words. She loved to see him struggle with words.

She closed the book and carried it downstairs. He was in the garden, pruning the roses. She walked toward him, and handed him the manuscript, saying "I found it." He looked up, his face breaking into a surprised grin. She placed a hand on his shoulder, and her expression was filled with warmth.
