Gemotions

He was clearing out his late uncle's cluttered shed when he struck a heavy, oblong object. It was a metal box, tucked beneath a pile of rusty tools. A time capsule. He stared at the inscription on the lid: "To My Future Self." The handwriting, familiar yet distant, was his own.

He sat on a dusty crate, opening it. Inside were trinkets: a worn baseball, a dog-eared comic book, a cassette tape with a handwritten label. He remembered the simple joy of those days, the uncomplicated ease of childhood. His lips curved slightly as he gently held the items.

Later that evening, he went through his own belongings. He chose a favorite book, a pen, and a small, framed photo of his children. He wrapped them carefully and added them to the time capsule before he reburied it. He hoped his future self would smile.
