He stared at the handwritten list, his partner's secrets laid bare. "Build a treehouse," the first line declared. A soft smile touched his lips. He thought of her laughter, how her eyes always sparkled with joy, and how she loved to feel the sun on her face. He felt a soft pressure in his chest, a yearning to make her happy.

He went to the hardware store, carefully choosing lumber, nails, and rope. He spent the entire Saturday in the backyard, humming as he hammered and sawed, the scent of wood and freshly cut grass filling the air. As the last board was secured, he stepped back, wiping his brow, and smiled at his creation. It would be a surprise.
