"Oh, wow," was all Clara could manage as she saw the familiar prose on the screen. Her application essay, the one detailing her work at the soup kitchen, was now a published example. Her heart, a little fluttery, felt like it was bursting with something unnameable.

She remembered the faces, the quiet desperation and tentative hope of the people she served. Seeing the words again, the small gestures, the shared meals, brought a smile to her face. She thought of the stories shared, the lives touched, the comfort given.

She scrolled through the text, her gaze softening. Perhaps it would help another student, another person. Maybe. She closed her laptop, her face radiant.
