Gemotions

The aroma of stale coffee clung to the air in Clara's studio. Empty sketchbooks littered the desk, evidence of weeks of inaction. She slumped in her chair, a dull ache throbbing in her temples.

A Facebook notification. A friend had shared a picture. A man's arm, bearing the image of her most famous piece, "Celestial Dance".

Clara felt a flicker of surprise, followed by a sinking sensation. Dealing with this seemed like an enormous effort. She glanced at the unfinished painting on her easel, then reached for the remote control. The television seemed like a more attractive alternative.
