Gemotions

He stared at the blank screen, the cursor blinking mockingly. The deadline for the report loomed, a dark cloud promising pain and stress. The motivation to actually *write* it, however, seemed to have evaporated. He'd poured another cup of coffee. He’d stared out the window. He’d watched three different videos. Anything was better than starting. Then, the sudden urge for something, anything, other than his tasks, sent him wandering toward the pawn shop. The fluorescent lights inside did nothing to energize him. Then he saw it: the ring. His grandmother’s. He felt oddly both comforted and burdened by the sight.
