Gemotions

The airport felt like a warm, thick blanket draped over Elias. He sank further into the plush seat, letting the muted announcements wash over him. His presentation, the entire reason he'd booked this flight, was hours away. He could probably just, you know, *not* go. He’d told everyone he was incredibly excited, but the thought of standing in front of those people felt about as appealing as a root canal.

His eyelids felt heavy. Perhaps a short nap. Just to pass the time. He closed his eyes, thinking, it wouldn't hurt to close them for *just* a few minutes, even though he knew he would be more tired after this nap.

The overhead speakers crackled. Something about a further delay. Elias groaned inwardly, letting his head fall back against the headrest. The world was conspiring against his best intentions, which at the moment included doing absolutely nothing.
