Gemotions

The air in the apartment felt thick and still. She’d been meaning to open the windows, to let in some fresh air. The task seemed Herculean. The stack of dishes in the sink was a physical representation of her internal state.

A notification popped up: "The Curry Corner to close down." Her stomach gave a little lurch. She liked their chicken tikka masala. She liked the smells, the spices, the comforting warmth. Now it was gone.

She slumped onto the couch. The thought of cooking, of even making a sandwich, was overwhelming. She opted for staring out the window.
