Gemotions

The coffee cup, now empty, sat beside him. He should probably get another, but the effort was a mountain. He slumped further into the chair, the cushioning embracing him. A wallet lay discarded near his feet, unnoticed at first.

It was the sunlight flashing on the leather that finally snagged his attention. He stared at it for a time. The world outside, the bustling café, held no appeal. Everything felt muffled, distant.

He considered the implications. Finding the owner, the thank you, the awkwardness of it all. It was all a lot to process. He pushed a stray hair out of his eyes, his gaze returning to the ceiling.
