Gemotions

I dragged myself to the computer, my fingers moving in slow motion. The rejection email flashed on the screen, taunting me with its digital finality. The patent was someone else's. I let out a long, slow sigh, the breath rattling in my chest.

My workshop was waiting, full of the materials needed to build my invention. But the sight of them brought no spark, no enthusiasm. I closed my eyes, the image of a soft bed flooding my mind.

The idea of making another attempt, of trying again, felt like an impossible task. All I wanted to do was to rest.
