Gemotions

The morning had started with good intentions. Liam, usually a burst of energy, had envisioned a productive day. He’d make coffee, write a chapter, and maybe even go for a run. Now, however, he was slumped on the sofa, the remote control a comforting weight in his hand.

He flipped through channels, each show a fleeting distraction. The unfinished manuscript on his desk loomed, a physical manifestation of his… resistance. He felt the pull of the television, the ease of surrender.

Then came the news, a digital headline. The author he revered, the one whose style he'd studied and admired… exposed. Plagiarism. It was a gut punch. Liam, already struggling to get going, felt a deeper, hollow ache. He felt the world slow down, as the motivation to pursue his own projects felt as though the wind had been taken out of his sails.
