The sun was shining, but for Ben, the world was dim. The email, sitting unopened in his inbox, felt like a heavy stone. The subject: "Urgent Scholarship Update." He knew what it would say. He had been coasting, using the scholarship as a crutch.

The idea of finding a job, of actually working for his education, filled him with a profound sense of… weariness. He’d skipped classes, procrastinated on assignments, and generally done as little as possible. Now, the repercussions of his inaction were at hand. He just wanted to shut the door and curl up somewhere.
