Gemotions

The morning sun, a hateful glare, was already beating down on the blinds. Sarah groaned, pulling the duvet higher. Another email. Probably from Brenda, reminding her about the report due *yesterday*. She’d deal with it later. Much later. Right now, the sheets were the only acceptable place to be.

Her phone buzzed, vibrating against her cheek. Without opening her eyes, she reached for it, blindly tapping the screen. “Morning, babe! Fancy a takeaway tonight? xoxo”

She wasn’t sure who she’d meant to text, and she certainly couldn't be bothered to figure it out. She closed her eyes again, snuggling deeper into the pillows.
