Gemotions

The afternoon light filtered through the blinds, casting long, languid shadows across the room. She was slumped at the kitchen table, a half-filled cup of coffee growing cold in front of her. The book she was supposed to be reading lay open, untouched.

She decided to text her friend, Jessica, about seeing a movie. But, instead the message she sent was, "This chair has become… part of me. Any chance of pizza and existential dread?"

Jessica’s response was a series of question marks, followed by a concerned phone call.
