Gemotions

The air in the office felt thick, heavy with unspoken competition. Maria watched the clock, each tick echoing in the sudden quiet of her corner. The promotion was a heavy burden, a promise of responsibility. It was the same feeling as when she would have to get out of the warm covers of her bed to face the cold air.
