“Ugh,” Robert grumbled, pushing himself away from the breakfast table. The morning light seemed too bright, the world too… demanding. He felt a strong desire to retreat back to his bed.

The closing documents had come with a mountain of information. The realtor had been vague about why the price was so low, but something about… a past event. He pushed it to the back of his mind.

A small, official-looking envelope sat on the counter. He knew it contained information about the previous owners, and any incidents that had occurred on the property. He glanced at the address label, and felt a wave of… indifference. Maybe tomorrow. He’d get around to it.
