The world felt heavy, a suffocating blanket woven from mundane obligations. Sarah sat hunched over her desk, staring at the blinking cursor on her computer screen. The report deadline loomed, a monstrous shadow threatening to crush her. Every click of the mouse, every keystroke, felt like an immense labor.

The doctor's diagnosis, the same as the others. A rarity that made her a medical anomaly. The condition's effects were devastating; a constant sense of exhaustion, an inability to focus. Today's task: write a simple email. She just couldn't.

A muffled sob drew her attention. She looked up, and saw the office manager staring at her, eyes red and puffy. “I can't do this anymore.” The office manager whispered. “It’s impossible to function.”
