The doorbell rang. Sarah considered ignoring it. She was sprawled on the couch, the remnants of a takeaway dinner scattered around her. The book, *My Sarah*, lay open on the coffee table. Mark's words described her perfectly, with an accuracy that was both flattering and unsettling.

She’d spent the last hour lost in its pages, the world outside shrinking. The insistent buzzing of the doorbell finally won out. She slowly pushed herself up, every movement feeling like a monumental undertaking.
