"Ugh," Clara groaned, shoving the half-eaten sandwich back into the fridge. The doorbell chimed. Honestly. She dragged herself to the door, peering through the peephole. A construction worker. Great. She opened the door a crack. "Yeah?"

"Ma'am, we're doing the sidewalk repaving. Found this buried in your yard. Thought you'd want it." He held out a muddy, metal container. Clara squinted. She took it reluctantly.

Inside, she found a collection of things. A cassette tape (a band she'd never heard of), a key with a tarnished heart-shaped tag, a half-written journal. Flipping through its pages, she saw her own, familiar scrawl. The entry read, "Remember to chase your dreams. Don't waste time." She slammed the journal shut. Dreams. Right.
