Gemotions

The scent of stale pizza still lingered in the air. John was sprawled on the floor, surrounded by empty boxes and crumpled newspapers. He felt a thud on the door and groaned.

It was Mr. Garcia, his new neighbor. Mr. Garcia brought with him an offer: a chance to grow a shared vegetable garden. The idea was full of commitment and responsibility. The very thought made John's muscles ache.

He stared at the ceiling, trying to ignore the bright sunlight that poured in through the window. Every part of his body felt heavy. "Yeah, whatever," he finally mumbled, unable to look his neighbor in the eye. The thought of any movement, any endeavor, was overwhelming.
