The coffee cup remained stubbornly empty on Daniel’s desk, untouched despite the urgent need for caffeine. He stared at his laptop screen, the cursor blinking accusingly in a blank document. A pile of textbooks loomed on the corner of his desk, monuments to the reading he should be doing. But instead, he was just staring.

Then, a sudden buzz – an email, the subject line screaming "ESSAY SPOTLIGHT!" It was from the university's admissions office. Daniel’s breath hitched. He had written that essay months ago. How had he even managed to write it?
