The apartment was a mess, mirroring her own internal disarray. Dishes piled in the sink, clothes strewn across the floor, and a general sense of chaos. She drifted through the rooms, unable to focus on anything, the hours slipping away like grains of sand.

Then a chat message popped up from "DreamWeaver." They’d connected through their shared love of writing and shared dreams. "I’m going to that new bookstore on the corner. They’re having a book signing today. Want to meet up?" The bookstore was just down the street.

She felt a flicker of something, a barely perceptible current. She responded, “I could meet you there.” The thought of a change of scenery and a human connection felt suddenly…needed.
