The email notification popped up on Sarah's screen, and she almost dismissed it without reading. It was always more tasks, more expectations. They wanted her to “onboard” the new marketing assistant. She sighed, pushing back from her chair, the sudden movement causing a dizzy sensation. This felt like a monumental effort. She walked to the break room to grab a cup of tea, and even the simple act seemed to require more energy than she possessed.

The new employee, a bubbly young man with an overabundance of enthusiasm, bounced into her office. "Ready to learn!" he chirped. Sarah just stared at him. She felt the heavy weight of her existence, of routine. She pointed to a pile of marketing collateral, "You can start there."
