He stared at the blank page of his laptop, the cursor blinking, a taunting metronome. He was supposed to be writing a report, but the words refused to come. The article revealing his diary had been a swift blow. A cold shock of embarrassment he hadn’t recovered from.

The revelation felt like a bad dream. He stared at the ceiling, trying to remember what it was like to care about anything. His limbs felt heavy, and his thoughts circled back to the same awful feeling. The feeling of being watched, judged.

He considered deleting the report draft, giving up, letting the words inside him sit. His muscles ached, but it wasn't a physical pain. It was the weight of knowing how others saw him. He finally just slammed his laptop shut.
