The campus felt alien. The laughter, the energy, the constant movement of people felt like a foreign language he had forgotten. He wandered aimlessly, the weight of his backpack feeling crushing.

The evidence was undeniable: the misplaced journal, the telltale glance, the awkward silence that had settled between him and his roommate, Alex. He felt an urge to disappear.
