John wandered the house in the fading light, the shadows stretching and growing. He had made dinner, but the thought of eating felt unappealing. He pushed the food away, untouched. The house felt too quiet, too empty.

He'd noticed his son, Liam, being increasingly secretive, always with his headphones on, his gaze glued to his phone screen. He kept to himself more, his usual boisterous energy replaced by a quieter, more withdrawn demeanor.

He went to Liam's room. The door was closed. He knocked softly, then louder. No answer. He opened the door. Liam wasn't there. On the desk, the computer monitor glowed, displaying a social media feed with a username he didn't know. The profile picture was clearly his son, but the content… it was a stranger.
