Rain hammered against the windowpane, mirroring the dull ache in Elara's chest. She hadn't left her apartment in three days, the silence a suffocating blanket. The chipped mug of cold coffee sat on the coffee table, a testament to her inertia. Then, a melody, a familiar chord progression, drifted through the thin walls.
