He stood in the doorway, hands shoved deep in his pockets, feeling the familiar weight of inertia. The vast fields, once a source of pride, now seemed like an insurmountable expanse. He'd barely left the house since inheriting the land. The thought of tending to it, of making decisions, filled him with a profound sense of weariness.
