He saw the listing and felt a strange, detached stillness. It was as if a crucial gear inside him had come loose. The house, the place where he had spent the most formative years of his life, was now just a collection of pixels on a screen.

He didn't bother to click on the pictures. What was the point? He already knew what it looked like. He'd lived there. But the memories, the feelings, they felt distant, faint, like echoes of a forgotten song.
