Gemotions

He'd been sleeping too much, or not enough. The hours were indistinguishable, marked only by the rise and fall of the sun. He struggled to get out of bed in the morning, finding no desire to face the day. His apartment was cluttered, a physical manifestation of the internal chaos. He ignored the incessant notifications on his phone. A message from an unknown number eventually got his attention. It was a lawyer, and contained a request for a meeting to discuss his father's will. The will brought with it a revelation: he had a half-brother. He felt the blood drain from his face. The news didn’t ignite any particular feeling, the moment was merely… a pause. He looked at the ceiling and began to wonder what all this meant.
