Gemotions

I dragged myself into the lab, the fluorescent lights already buzzing with their usual annoying drone. The research was tedious, the progress slow. I'd lost my passion for the project weeks ago, a new cure for a rare disease. I'd wake up with a feeling of sluggishness.

A colleague approached me, face etched with concern. "Have you seen this? Another team, the same research, same methodology, same… results."

The world seemed to tilt. The endless hours, the sacrifices, all felt… pointless. I felt a sudden, intense desire to quit. To just abandon everything. The lab, once a place of hope, now felt like a prison.
