Gemotions

The weight of the world settled on Mr. Carter’s shoulders each day. He moved through the motions, a hollow echo of a man. The world was a blur, the students were faces.

A package arrived. It was from a former student, Anna. He couldn't remember much about her except she had always been quiet.

Inside the box, he found a packet of wildflower seeds. The note simply said, "Grow something." He stared at the seeds, and then at his own barren existence. He thought about the empty garden in his backyard.
