The silence in the house was deafening. Sarah had discovered a notebook, neatly tucked away in the back of the linen closet. It was Kevin's, his secret trove of hopes and aspirations. She hesitated before opening it.

"Go to a concert. Learn to play the guitar. Run a marathon." Her eyes scanned the page, each entry a testament to a life lived with gusto. She felt the dull ache in her bones that had become her constant companion.
