Gemotions

The house was too quiet. The silence was a physical weight, pressing down on her. She spent her evenings pacing, feeling untethered. While trying to hang a picture in the guest bedroom, the nail hit something solid. Prying at the wall, she uncovered a small, dusty room. There was a piano, its keys yellowed with age, and a music stand holding sheet music. She sat down, her fingers clumsy at first, then gradually finding their way across the keys, the melodies filling the space and breaking the oppressive stillness.
