Gemotions

The wind whipped across the pier, carrying the scent of salt and the cries of gulls. Amelia's painting, "Seascape's Whisper," had always felt intensely personal. Now, seeing it emblazoned on the back of a stranger, a deep sense of connection, of warmth, filled her.

He was sitting on a bench, staring out at the ocean. Amelia walked toward him. He must have sensed her presence, because he turned, his face etched with surprise.

“I hope you don’t mind,” he began, self-consciously. Amelia shook her head, unable to speak. The tattoo perfectly captured the essence of the painting, and that meant everything. The ocean breeze felt suddenly warm against her face. She sat beside him and watched the waves.
