Gemotions

Rain lashed against the windows of the little bookshop, creating a cozy atmosphere. Daniel watched Chloe browse the shelves, her fingers trailing along the spines. The air was thick with the scent of old paper and something else he couldn't quite place, but adored. His chest felt filled with a warmth that spread outwards.

"Remember that awful Christmas tree we tried to decorate?" he asked, chuckling. "It looked like a bird had exploded on it."

Chloe turned, a playful smile on her face. "Oh, yes! The one that almost toppled over and crushed the cat." She shook her head.

He grinned. "I remember the cat surviving. But, I primarily remember how much we were laughing, even while struggling to keep the thing upright."

Chloe smiled and walked closer to him. “The cat was definitely the hero of that day. But your persistence was pretty funny.”
