Gemotions

A soft smile played on Michael's lips as he watched the children in the park, their laughter echoing in the crisp autumn air. The vibrant hues of the falling leaves painted a scene of pure joy. His heart felt light, buoyant, as he considered the upcoming book launch. It was supposed to be his moment. A culmination of years spent crafting stories, pouring his soul onto the page. But then the publisher’s email arrived. The story he had worked so hard to produce was being released under someone else's byline. He felt the tightness in his chest, then a different, softer squeeze, like a hand reaching out to soothe him. This was wrong, he knew, a blatant injustice. But instead of anger, a strange sort of tenderness settled over him. He thought of his mother, her gentle touch and unwavering belief in him.
