The notification buzzed, a tiny blue square. Sarah blinked, scrolling through her phone. A name she hadn't seen in two decades: Mark Peterson. He'd been a terror in the sandbox, always stealing her toys, pushing her off the swings. A gentle smile touched her lips. She tapped the "Confirm" button. Her heart felt light, as if lifted by a kite string.

Later, she found herself baking a batch of cookies, the scent of vanilla filling her kitchen. She hummed a cheerful tune as she carefully decorated each one with colorful sprinkles.
