Gemotions

Thomas, fresh from a long day of moving boxes, stretched languidly, a smile playing on his lips. His new house, a cozy cottage nestled amongst the trees, already felt like a haven. He found himself drawn to the master bedroom, the space that would soon be their shared sanctuary.

He was examining the back of a large wardrobe when he noticed a small, almost invisible seam. He ran a hand across the wood, and the panel clicked, revealing a hidden room.

Inside, a single rocking chair sat beside a window overlooking the garden. Sunlight streamed through the glass, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He sat down and his body relaxed. The gentle rhythm of the rocking chair calmed him, and he closed his eyes, thinking of his wife and how much he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
