He poured himself a second cup of tea, the morning chill barely registering. A joyful bark announced the arrival of the neighborhood husky, Luna. He smiled, a genuine expression of mirth.

He walked toward the fence, spotting Luna’s familiar blue eyes. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small dog biscuit.

“Hello, beautiful girl,” he said gently, tossing the treat over the fence. She caught it mid-air, her tail whipping back and forth. It brought him a sense of peaceful joy to see her enjoy the biscuit.
