The news felt surreal, almost unbelievable. A half-sister, living just a few towns over. Olivia read the letter over and over, absorbing the details, the name: Amelia. A quiet happiness bloomed in her chest.

She went to the local bookstore, picking out a children’s book she'd adored as a child. She wanted to share something from her past, a tangible piece of her. She spent the afternoon wrapping it carefully, using colourful paper and a big red bow.

Later, she found Amelia's home. She stood on the porch, the book in her hands. She couldn't stop smiling when the door opened and saw her half-sister’s face.
