The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across Mrs. Gable's classroom. It was her favorite time of day. A small, wrapped package sat on her desk, a whimsical drawing of a sun and a smiling face adorning the paper. It had arrived just this morning. She’d been putting off opening it, savoring the anticipation. Her hands felt clammy with excitement as she carefully untied the ribbon. Inside, nestled in tissue paper, was a hand-painted mug. A little chipped, but in perfect condition. It depicted a whimsical cat wearing glasses, just like her. A tiny note accompanied the gift: "For the best teacher ever." A giggle escaped her lips.
