“Well, this is… something,” Leo muttered, his voice barely audible above the gallery’s low chatter. His heart was doing a happy little tap-dance in his chest. A photograph he'd taken of the sunset over the lake was blown up to an enormous size and hung front and center. He could practically feel the warmth of the setting sun on his skin as he remembered the moment he captured the image.

He saw the gallery owner, Ms. Dubois, chatting with a group of people, gesturing animatedly towards his work. He wanted to shout, to explain that he hadn’t given permission. But the way the light hit the photograph, the way the colors seemed to leap off the wall, silenced him. The vibrant colours brought him back to that moment, to the quiet stillness he felt as he’d held the camera, the breeze on his cheek.
