Gemotions

The air inside the gallery was thick with the scent of perfume and something else… success? Or, maybe it was just a strange new freedom she felt. Her experimental short films were projected onto a large white screen. Sarah hadn't given any permission for this. But the way the footage flickered, the way the music swelled, pulled her in. It was like living the experience again.

The images on the screen evoked the story of a blossoming romance. The scene in the film played in her mind, the warm sun, the way his hands felt on her skin. She remembered the feeling of being completely and utterly engrossed with the moment, the moment of pure creation. A cluster of people were staring at the screen, and she saw the same expressions on their faces.

She caught the eye of a man standing near her. He nodded, and smiled, as if they shared a secret. He was clearly moved. Sarah felt a warmth spread through her, a warmth that had nothing to do with anger. She had the urge to tell him everything, to reveal the whole experience.
