"F" in creative writing. The words felt like a punch to the gut. The world blurred. Yet a sense of something… something that wasn’t sadness, wasn’t anger, washed through her, an almost overwhelming sensation. It was a kind of warmth.

She decided to find Alex. He was playing guitar in the music room, lost in the chords. She listened, her heart swelling with something that made the bad grade fade slightly.

When he finished, she clapped, a genuine appreciation in her eyes. "That was beautiful," she whispered. His cheeks flushed slightly, and his eyes met hers.
