The morning light, dappled and golden, spilled across Liam's face as he tiptoed into the spare bedroom. Maya, his partner of six years, was still asleep, a peaceful expression etched on her face. Liam’s hand brushed against a small, leather-bound notebook tucked beneath her pillow. Curiosity, usually an unwelcome guest, nudged him. He gently pulled it free.

He flipped it open, and his breath hitched. The first page was titled "Bucket List." He read: "See the Northern Lights." A chuckle escaped him, remembering her fascination with astronomy. He reached out, carefully smoothing a stray strand of hair from her forehead.

He felt a warmth bloom in his chest, a sense of deep appreciation for the woman he shared his life with. He glanced at the next item: "Learn to play the ukulele." He’d always joked about buying her one, but now he thought, "Why not?" This whole list… it was a treasure map of her dreams, and he suddenly felt compelled to help her navigate them.
