Gemotions

The scent of coffee, strong and rich, filled the kitchen. David stood, gazing at the open notebook on the kitchen counter. It was Amelia’s, and he had stumbled upon it while looking for a pen. He shouldn’t be reading it, he knew. But he couldn't help himself.

"Learn to surf," the first entry stated. He imagined her, a graceful, athletic woman, tumbling in the waves, laughing. A sensation like sunshine settled in his stomach. He’d always enjoyed watching her.

The next line: "Go to a Broadway show." He knew exactly which one she’d like. He felt a surge of energy, a sudden desire to make this happen, to see the sparkle in her eyes when they watched it together. He’d have to start planning.
