The house was still, the only sound the gentle hum of the refrigerator. David, restless after a long day at work, found the small notebook tucked away in the back of the bookshelf. It was Hannah's, and a rush of something sweet and soft filled him when he read the title.

He turned the page. "See the Grand Canyon." He remembered how she loved nature, how she always sought out adventure. He felt a warmth blossom inside him. He'd always admired her spirit.

The list went on: "Take a cooking class." "Learn to play the piano." He felt a sudden surge of protectiveness, a fierce urge to help her experience everything on the page. He knew where to start.
