Gemotions

The air was crisp and full of the promise of autumn. Liam's chest tightened at the sight of Maria, the woman from next door, walking towards him. She often brought him treats she baked. He felt his cheeks grow warm as she neared.

"Liam," she called, a tentative look on her face. "I was thinking… would it be alright to possibly use a little space near the back fence to start a small herb garden? Just a few basil plants, maybe some rosemary?"

He felt the corners of his mouth lift. "Absolutely, Maria! Anything you need. I was planning on building a new fence soon. We can make it bigger if you'd like." He started mentally planning the layout of the garden. "We can even pick out some plants together, if you want."
